Tiger men grab second, women seventh at Morningside Fall Invite
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Dakota Wesleyan University men’s golf team added its best finish of the year so far, bringing home a second-place finish at the Morningside Invite on Monday at the Whispering Creek Golf Course in Sioux City, Iowa.

Senior Russell Pick (Kimball, S.D.) led the Tigers, carding a 76, good for a tie in third place. Sophomore Connor Preston (Aberdeen, S.D.) tied for eighth-place after shooting a 79. After carding an 84, Ryker Kreutzfeldt (Mitchell, S.D.) tied for 20th-place, while freshman Cade Carpenter (Mitchell, S.D.) tied for 26th-place with an 85. Alec Johnson (Tyndall, S.D.) shot an 87, good for a tie in 30th-place.
As a team, the men shot a 324, while the team champion was Morningside College with a 300.
On the women's side, freshman Skylar Brunk (Lee's Summit, Mo.) took 10th with an 89 and Nicole Nelson (Platte, S.D.) tied for 14th-place with freshman Brooke Ehlers (Worthing, S.D.) with a 91. Emily Sharkey (Upton, Wyo.) shot a 105 and Madison VanWalleghen (Letcher, S.D.) shot a 108.
The women shot a 376, while the team champion was Briar Cliff with a 328.
Both teams hit the greens at the Briar Cliff Invite on Friday and Saturday at Two Rivers Golf Course in Sioux City, Iowa.
