MITCHELL, S.D. – Despite being tied at one heading into the second half, Central Christian College had other ideas, defeating the Dakota Wesleyan University men's soccer team 3-1 on Friday night at the Pepsi-Cola Soccer Complex in Mitchell.
The Tigers got on the scoreboard first, thanks to a goal from freshman Reece Weber (Brookings, S.D.). However, DWU wouldn't score again as CCC tallied goals in the 35th, 51st and 63rd minute, while outshooting the Tigers 20-12.
Gage Pemberton (Overland Park, Kan.) and Sorobabel Lopez (Lewisville, Texas) added two shots on goal in the loss. Goalie John Sutherland (Hartlepool, England) recorded six saves in the net for the Tigers.
DWU (1-3) is back in action against Presentation College at 4 p.m. on Tuesday at the Pepsi-Cola Soccer Complex in Mitchell.
