Bio
Backman enters his second season as a graduate assistant for the Men's Soccer Program.
He graduated from Lewis-Clark State College with a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, specializing in coaching. His coaching experience includes leading the soccer team at Hells Canyon Rapids (2014-2024) and serving as a high school coach in Lewiston for five years, where he coached both soccer (2019-2023) and wrestling (2020-2023). Backman also holds a USSF "D" License.
Currently, Coach Backman is pursuing a Master's degree in Education with a focus on Athletic Administration and Activities, which aligns well with his passion for sports and education. He and his wife Brittney reside in Mitchell.
