SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Dakota Wesleyan Cross Country competed in the Augustana Twilight to kick off the 2025 season.
The women's crew would kick off the competition at 8:30 PM in Sioux Falls with the 5000m competition. Ella Pollreisz would be the highest individual placer for the Tigers across both the men's and women's team, finishing just outside of the top 100 with a mark of 19:38.11 to start her season in the record books, with her time registering eighth in DWU Cross Country history in the 5000m. The other women's competitor, Hailey Oswald, would finish the 5000m race with a respectable final time of 22:44.99 to claim a spot in the top 300 individually.
On the men's side for DWU Cross Country, three athletes would compete in the night's four-mile race. Graham Huffman would lead the way for the DWU men's team, recording a final time of 23:31.14. Gage Hohn would follow closely behind, finishing in the 23rd minute as well and crossing the finish line at 23:57.24, while Dustin Lemaster rounded out the group's effort with a time of 24:39.86. The Tigers would not record a team placement due to the amount of registrants, but the crew still had a solid showing against a slate of competition that featured mostly NCAA Division I and II competition, along with the best collegiate runners in the area.
