DWU women’s basketball picked second in GPAC preseason poll
MITCHELL, S.D. – Coming off a trip to the NAIA National Tournament and an appearance in the Great Plains Athletic Conference championship game a season ago, the Dakota Wesleyan University women’s basketball team was picked second in the GPAC preseason poll, it was announced by the conference on Thursday.
MITCHELL, S.D. – Coming off a trip to the NAIA National Tournament and an appearance in the Great Plains Athletic Conference championship game a season ago, the Dakota Wesleyan University women's basketball team was picked second in the GPAC preseason poll, it was announced by the conference on Thursday.
DWU tallied 90 total points and one first place vote, while Concordia University was tabbed the preseason favorite with 100 total points and 10 first-place votes. Rounding out the top-5 was Morningside College in third, Northwestern College in fourth and Hastings College in fifth.
The Tigers open the 2017-18 season against future GPAC member, the University of Jamestown at 6 p.m. on Oct. 31 at the Corn Palace in Mitchell.
