Tigers Women's Golf Team Recap: Mustang Derby Invite

Sioux City, Iowa – The Tigers women's golf team delivered a dominating performance at the Mustang Derby Invite, securing a second-place finish with a total score of +635. The team recorded scores of +314 on the first day and with a +321 on the second day, showcasing their consistency throughout the 18-hole competition.

-Allison Meyerink had was a standout performer of the tournament, Meyerink claimed the top spot with a remarkable total score of 147. Her strong play included consistent shot-making and effective course management, allowing her to navigate the challenging layout with confidence.

 

-Kaylee Johnson showcased her skills by tying for 5th place overall with a score of 155. Her rounds of 76 and 79 reflected her ability to maintain composure under pressure. Her steady play was a factor in the Tigers' strong team performance.

 

-Sara Sudenga finishing tied her for 18th place, Sudenga added onto the team's success with a total score of 165. Taking advantage of scoring opportunities when presented.

 

-Dakotah Larson's effort, tied for 24th place with a total of 168, was marked by determination. After an opening round of 82, she adjusted her strategy on day two resulting in an 86 that kept her competitive on the second day.

 

-Ashton Austreim rounding out the scoring for the Tigers. Austreim finished in 30th place with a combined score of 171. Her rounds of 85 and 86 showcased her resilience, as she worked through the challenges of the course, gaining valuable experience for future competitions.

 

These individual efforts contributed to the Tigers' overall success. 
 
Tigers Look Ahead:
The Tigers will next compete in the Whistling Straits Classic, hosted by Taylor University at Whistling Straits Golf Club in Kohler, Wisconsin, on October 14 and 15. The team aims to build on their experiences from the Mustang Derby Invite as they continue their season.
