Mitchell, S.D. – Dakota Wesleyan University junior Ashton Austreim has been named the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC)/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Golfer of the Week following her stellar performance at Briar Cliff Match Play.
A native of Brookings, South Dakota, Austreim played a key role in leading the Tigers to a first-place team finish. Competing in the match play format, she delivered a dominant performance, securing a 3 & 1 victory over Emily Fauble and earning a perfect 3 out of 3 possible points for her team.
Her efforts were instrumental in Dakota Wesleyan's success, as the Tigers collectively excelled to claim the title.
"Ashton had a great match play showing," said head coach Jeff Meyerink. "She managed the course well, hit the ball solidly, and made key putts. When those three things come together, the pressure shifts to her opponent, often leading to mistakes. It's great to see her hard work pay off."
