Tigers oust Flames in five sets

MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University volleyball team added another five set victory to the win column, defeating College of Saint Mary 3-2 in a Great Plains Athletic Conference clash Saturday at the Christen Athletic Center in Mitchell, S.D. 

 It was a back and forth affair as set scores were 26-28, 25-20, 23-25, 25-20 and 15-11 in favor of the Tigers.
 
 Three different Tigers recorded double-digit kills, led by senior Lauren Tadlock (Rapid City, S.D.) who recorded 20 kills and 16 digs. Dana Misiaszek (Mitchell, S.D.) tallied 13 kills, while Katie Vetch (Rapid City, S.D.) added 11.
 
 Senior setter Michelle Van Epps (Lakefield, Minn.) led the offensive attack with 53 digs, while Taylor Spence (North Branch, Minn.) chipped in 30 digs.
 
 The win was the second five-set victory for the Tigers this week, previously defeating Dakota State University in five at the Corn Palace.
 
 DWU (12-5, 1-3) hosts Morningside College for a GPAC contest at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Corn Palace in Mitchell, S.D.
