McCall tabbed as DWU Sports Information Director
MITCHELL, S.D. – Dakota Wesleyan University Athletics is excited to announce the hiring of Brandt McCall as its newest Sports Information Director, it was announced by DWU athletic director Jon Hart on Thursday.
MITCHELL, S.D. – Dakota Wesleyan University Athletics is excited to announce the hiring of Brandt McCall as its newest Sports Information Director, it was announced by DWU athletic director Jon Hart on Thursday.
"We are extremely excited to have Brandt join the DWU family," expressed Hart on the hiring of McCall as the newest SID at Dakota Wesleyan. "His experience and background will help us continue to promote our brand and programs at a very high level. He has a strong understanding of what it takes to spearhead a sports information team."
McCall most recently served as an Athletic Communications Graduate Assistant at Northern State University beginning in 2019 where he facilitated all contact with a number of programs including baseball, women's basketball, women's soccer and women's swimming. While at Northern State, he also crafted and formulated a multitude of game day materials including programs and news articles both before and after events.
Prior to his work at NSU, the graduate of Presentation College operated as a student assistant for the Sports Information Department at Presentation College for four years where he administered accurate statistical information and handled all livestream operations. McCall also helped in assembling season statistical record books for a variety of sports along with acting as the liaison for the Saints' softball team as a senior in 2019.
During his time as an undergraduate, the Syracuse, N.Y., native also fulfilled a role as an Athletic Marketing and Events Intern with Northern State University Athletics while also working for Hub City Hotshots in 2018.
"I am excited for the opportunity to be part of the Dakota Wesleyan University Athletics Department," expressed McCall on his new position. "I look forward to promoting the shared vision and culture that was exhibited during my interview through my marketing, event management and athletic leadership skills.
McCall earned a bachelor's degree of Business in Sports Events and Management from Presentation College in May 2019 and later obtained a master's degree in Sports Performance and Leadership from Northern State University in May 2021.
