TIGERS BATTLE WINDY ELEMENTS AT 2022 DEWEY DONAT CLASSIC, GUIGUI CLEARS NAIA STANDARD IN HIGH JUMP

ABERDEEN, S.D. – Just two weeks out from the 2022 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) outdoor track and field championships, the Dakota Wesleyan University track and field program battled windy conditions at the Dewey Donat Classic held at Al Sahli Track in Aberdeen, S.D. Dakota Wesleyan senior Lia Guigui underlined the completion for the Tigers with a runner-up and NAIA 'B' standard performance in the high jump while several other DWU performers captured top-5 finishes.

TRACK AND FIELD POCKETS FIVE EVENT TITLES IN CEDAR RAPIDS, MULTITUDE OF TOP-5 FINISHES

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Looking to keep pace midway through the outdoor season, the Dakota Wesleyan University track and field program snagged a handful of event titles and a multitude of top-5 performances at the 2022 Rittgers Invitational hosted by Coe University on Friday in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Distance duo Wyatt Baldauf and Caleb Sayler crossed the finish line for individual victories in the 3,000 meter steeplechase and 5,000 meters while Adaya Plastow, Cale Strong and Katlyn Briggs finished atop the leaderboards in their respective events.

TWO NAIA STANDARDS AND A PROGRAM RECORD SHATTERED; TIGER THROWERS OVERTAKE 57TH ANNUAL SIOUX CITY RELAYS

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Windy and sunny conditions set the scene for the Dakota Wesleyan University track and field team with the commencing of the 57th Annual Sioux City Relays on Friday and Saturday from Elwood Olsen Stadium on the campus of Morningside University in Sioux City, Iowa. The DWU throwers made the most of the opportunity by putting on a clinic in the throwing events en route to several top-10 finishes, multiple NAIA standards, a program record and event title against fellow Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) competitors.

GRONSETH REGISTERS NAIA ‘B’ STANDARD IN SHOT PUT, TIGERS BATTLE STIFF COMPETITION AT USD EARLY BIRD INVITE

VERMILLION, S.D. – Sunny and windy conditions set the scene across the South Dakota horizon as the Dakota Wesleyan University track and field program battled the likes of NCAA Division I, Division II, NAIA and NJCAA competition at the USD Early Bird Invite from the Lillibridge Track and Field Complex in Vermillion, S.D. Lila Gronseth, placing top-20 in both the discus throw and shot put, notched an NAIA 'B' standard in the shot put competition while Caden Milmine furthered his current standard in the shot put as well.

TRACK AND FIELD COMMENCES OUTDOOR CAMPAIGN WITH A HANDFUL OF EVENT TITLES AT BVU OUTDOOR INVITE

STORM LAKE, Iowa – Fresh off a successful indoor campaign, the Dakota Wesleyan University track and field program commenced the 2021-22 outdoor docket at the BVU Outdoor Invite on Saturday, and Dakota Wesleyan dialed several impressive first-place finishes along with an NAIA 'B' standard and a meet record.

FOUR TIGERS DESTINED FOR NAIA NATIONAL INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS

MITCHELL, S.D. – Four members of the Dakota Wesleyan University track and field team punched their ticket to the 2022 NAIA national indoor track and field championships after a competitive outing at the 2022 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) indoor track and field championships over the weekend. This year’s national championship event is hosted by Dakota State University and is set to take place on Thursday, March 3 through Saturday, March 5 from the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex in Brookings, S.D.

Aschemann appointed as Interim Director of Cross Country and Track and Field at Dakota Wesleyan
