Seward, Neb. –
Tigers jumped to a 5-0 lead after the first three innings on the road against the Concordia Bulldogs. Brianna Dawson sent Peyton Bagley and Alyssa Burke home for the first two runs of the game and then Keirstyn Krcil put down the first three Bulldogs down in order in the first inning. DWU next three runs came in quick fashion after Bagley doubled to the right field and allowed Macy Moore and Reagan Grossi to put up two runs. McKinnely Mull would score the third run in the second inning after Burke grounded out. Krcil would put away the four five six batters for Concordia in the bottom of the second inning. The Bulldogs scored two runs in the fourth inning to make it 5-2 Tigers lead.
DWU put up six more runs in the next three innings to take a commanding 8-2 lead heading into the bottom of the sixth. Concordia had other plans for the contest and put up four runs to make it a two-run game. Bagley hit a deep ball into right center for two RBIs and Bagley scored on an error in Burke's at bat for the third run scored by the Tigers. Concordia put up five runs to tie it up at 11 a piece in the seventh inning. The two teams went scoreless through the first two extra innings before Concordia would score on a single up the middle in the bottom of the tenth to take game one, 12-11.
Game two the Tigers jumped out to a three-run lead after a Mull two-run shot out of the ball park. Grace Ortmeier started in the circle for the Tigers and in the second and third inning, she put the Bulldogs down in order. Concordia bounced back in the fourth inning and would score three runs to tie up the score. The Bulldogs scored eight unanswered runs from the fourth through sixth innings. Dakota Wesleyan would put up two runs in the final frame of the game but were unable to come back. Concordia took game two, 8-5. Peyton Bagley had herself a day as she went 8 for 10 in two games with four RBIs and four runs scored.
