Lamer provisionally qualifies, Tiger track and field competes in Orange City

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – Sophomore Kamber Lamer (Hartford, S.D.) had one of her best showings as a Tiger at the Red Raider Open on Thursday in Orange City, Iowa.
Lamer provisionally qualified for nationals after taking second-place in the heptathlon. The 3,869 point scored by Lamer was the second-best point total in DWU history. Lamer took first in the long jump with a leap of 16-feet, seven and three-quarter inches. The sophomore also took first in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.05 and second in the 200-meter dash in 26.16. In the high jump, Lamer tallied a second-place finish with a leap of 4-feet, 10 and a quarter inch.
Kristen Jennings (Canton, S.D.) took ninth in the hammer throw with a toss of 123-feet. Freshman Mikaela Stofferahn (Dell Rapids, S.D.) had one of her best days in as a Tiger in her freshman campaign taking second in the discus with a toss of 136-feet, seven inches. Jennings took 1th-place while Heidi Frazee (Gillette, Wyo.) took 14th. Stofferahn also took second in the shot put with a throw of 40-feet, 11 and one-half inch. Jennings took sixth.
Kristen Longville (Lake Preston, S.D.) brought home a first-place finish in the triple jump with a leap of 34-feet, seven and one-half inch. Freshman Alyssa Weidler (Sioux Falls, S.D.) placed fourth in the long jump with a leap of 16-feet, one and three-quarter inches and fourth in the 100-meter dash in 12.96.
Andrea Sokolowski took sixth in the high jump in four feet, 10 and a quarter inches, while McKenna Rogers (Saint Michael, Minn.) continued her dominant performance in her first year as a Tiger with a sixth-place finish in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:26.87.
On the men's side, Gabe Dirksen (Lead, S.D.) took seventh in the decathlon, placing third in the long jump with a leap of 19-feet, seven and one-half inch. Dirksen also took third in the pole vault in 10-feet, 11 and one-half inch.
Jon Harmening (Jackson, Minn.) placed fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 40-feet, six and three-quarter inches. Freshman Jared Rabenberg (Britton, S.D.) took third in the high jump in six-feet, two and one-quarter inch.
In the 400-meter hurdles, Rex Schlicht (Woonsocket, S.D.) placed third in 56.47, while Harmening took ninth in 58.56. Freshman Ryan Chase (Huron, S.D.) took fourth in the 10,000-meter run in a time of 35:04.35. Jeremiah Panec (Kenesaw, Neb.) finished in ninth-place in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:01.56. Fellow freshman Nathan Bader took seventh in the 100-meter dash in 11.49.
Both teams take part in the Sioux City Relays on April 21-22 in Sioux City, Iowa.
