Tiger football to host high school combine
MITCHELL, S.D. – High school football players from around the area are invited to come test their skills against other local athletes this month at the third annual DWU Tiger football high school combine.
MITCHELL, S.D. – High school football players from around the area are invited to come test their skills against other local athletes this month at the third annual DWU Tiger football high school combine.
The combine starts at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25, and will be held at Joe Quintal Field in Mitchell. Athletes entering the ninth through 12th grades are invited to participate. They will be tested in five areas: 40-yard dash, L-drill, pro-agility, vertical jump and broad jump. The 40s will be run on the track and the other drills will be completed on the field.
At the conclusion of the five tests, athletes will be split up by position and position drills will be conducted. All times and marks will be made available to each participant at the conclusion of the camp. Tiger head football coach Ross Cimpl, along with his assistant football coaches and current DWU football players, will run the combine and will provide college-level instruction and evaluation to each athlete.
The camp begins with check in at 12:30 p.m. on July 25. Cost of the camp is $40 per participant, and includes a T-shirt. Registration is due by Friday, July 20.
