MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University football team completed the 2014 season with a win over Dordt College on a snowy day at Joe Quintal Field Saturday in Mitchell, S.D.
The Tigers (7-4) had a number of strong individual performances in the win over the Defenders, but a standout special teams display by sophomore wide receiver Dusting Livingston (Irene, S.D.) earned DWU one more individual regular season honor.
For his performance against Dordt, Livingston was named the Great Plains Athletic Conference Special Team Player of the Week, it was announced Monday.
Livingston earned the award with a 70-yard punt return for a touchdown in the third quarter on the snow covered field on Saturday. Livingston took the punt, made a couple of Dordt tacklers miss and cruised down the sidelines to the end zone.
Livingston also took his only pass reception of the game to the end zone for a 40-yard touchdown in the third quarter to help DWU pull away. Livingston led the Tigers in touchdown receptions in 2014 with five.
