Tiger men cruise over Oglala Lakota on Saturday

The Braveheart's of Kyle, S.D., stayed within striking distance of DWU in the first-half, but a full bench of Tiger sharp-shooters proved to be the difference.
With 16:06 left in the contest, Aaron Ahmadu (Houston, Texas) sank a 3-pointer to put the Tigers up 74-52. Ahmadu went on to shoot 3-for-3 from beyond the arc, while tallying 11 points off the bench. Junior Brandon Boggs (Sioux Falls, S.D.) saw a majority of minutes in the second-half for the first time in a Tiger uniform. Boggs went on to record 14 points and four assists in 17 minutes of action.
The starting five for DWU tallied double-digit scoring, led by junior Trae Vandeberg (Madison, S.D.) with 23 points on 5-of-7 shooting from beyond the arc. Freshmen Nate Davis (Watertown, S.D.) and Ty Hoglund (Dell Rapids, S.D.) added 13 points apiece, while Tate Martin (Mitchell, S.D.) and Jason Spicer (Sioux Falls, S.D.) pitched in 10.
The Tigers recorded 59 points off the bench, led by Bret Mattice (Eden Valley, Minn.) who had 13 points and four assists in 17 minutes of work, while shooting 4-of-6 from beyond the arc and 4-of-6 from the field.
Oglala Lakota was led by Carl Swallow with 28 points. Before the game, the Braveheart's presented the Beau Keeter Family with a hand-stitched quilt in memory of their son.
The Tigers (4-1) began Great Plains Athletic Conference action, taking on Dordt College at 8 p.m. Wednesday in Sioux Center, Iowa.
