Tigers Dominate Lancers in Conference Clash

The Tigers (7-1, 3-0 GPAC) dominated every facet as they out-rebounded the Lancers (3-6, 0-3 GPAC) 46-31, scored 20 points off 13 Mount Marty turnovers and tallied 33 bench points. DWU had the hot-hand and never looked back as they scored 50 first-half points and shot 54 percent from the field, while limiting the Lancers to 27 points and 37 percent from the field.
DWU never let up in the second half as they started on a 21-4 run. The Tigers concentrated on their free-throws as they shot a perfect 15-for-15 from the line in the second half, and tallied another 53 points on their way to another GPAC win.
Junior forward Jason Spicer (Sioux Falls, S.D.) had another monster night with 25 points and three rebounds, while junior guard Trae Vandeberg (Madison, S.D.) had a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Freshman guard Ty Hoglund (Dell Rapids, S.D.) added 13 points and four rebounds with fellow freshman guard Nate Davis (Watertown, S.D.) scoring 12 points, bringing down four rebounds and dishing out five assists on the night.
The Tigers hit the road for their next match-up against future GPAC member Jamestown University at 7 p.m. Saturday in Jamestown, N.D.
