Women's Golf Closes Fall Competition at the Statesmen

2025 DWU Women's Golf team together at the TPC Deere Run course

SILVIS, Ill. — Dakota Wesleyan Women's Golf competed at the Statesmen, hosted by William Penn, over in Illinois to close out the fall slate for the 2025-26 season.

The Tigers had a strong showing as a group, with all four golfers finishing in the top half of the competition individually. The team was led by Allison Meyerink, who shot an 80 (+8) in the first round to push the top portion of the leaderboard. Her round-two performance landed her in fourth place individually, scoring a 164 (+20) during the tournament in another top placement for the 2025-26 season. She was matched on day one by Ashton Austreim in one of her best performances of the season, equalling Meyerink's 80 (+8) in the first round. She finished the tournament on an 87 (+15) in round two, bringing her final total to 167 (+23), which earned her eighth place overall.

Sara Sudenga and Dakotah Larson rounded out the lineup for the Tigers with final scores of 180 (+36) and 184 (+40), respectively. Sudenga's 88 (+16) in round two helped her climb to a 19th-place finish, while Larson's steady splits put her tied for 24th individually at the end of the tournament. The team's efforts earned Dakota Wesleyan a fourth-place finish, which ended up being just 19 strokes out of first place. The conclusion of the event marks the end of the first portion of the season for the squad.
