Cross country opens season with strong performance
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – That Dakota Wesleyan University men’s and women’s cross country teams opened up the 2018 season at the Augustana University Twilight Meet. The women ran a 5K run, while the men competed in a 7K run Friday in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Leading the way for the women was sophomore Samantha Schuyler (Winner, S.D.) as she finished with a time of 20:07. Junior Mckenna Rogers (St. Michael, Minn.) was not far behind as she finished in 20:24, while senior Kelsie King (Mission Viejo, Calif.) ran the 5K in a time of 21:08.
Freshman Delanie Larson (Gettysburg, S.D.) was next for the Tigers as she tallied a time of 21:33 and Savannah Schmidt (Plankinton, S.D.) finished in 22:48.
For the men, Brendan Langbehn (Worthing, S.D.) led the charge after coming in 24:11, as Bryce Blank (Rapid City, S.D.) finished with a time of 25:07.
Both teams compete next at the Defender Classic on Sept. 8 on the Dordt College Campus in Sioux Center, Iowa.
