Turner named GPAC Player of the Week
MITCHELL, S.D. – After accounting for 461 yards of offense, junior quarterback Dillon Turner (Salem, Ark.) has been named Great Plains Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week after leading the No. 22 Dakota Wesleyan University Tigers to a 39-20 victory over Hastings College Saturday in Hastings, Neb.
MITCHELL, S.D. – After accounting for 461 yards of offense, junior quarterback Dillon Turner (Salem, Ark.) has been named Great Plains Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week after leading the No. 22 Dakota Wesleyan University Tigers to a 39-20 victory over Hastings College Saturday in Hastings, Neb.
Turner recorded 160 yards on the ground with 15 carries and two touchdowns. Through the air, he completed 22-of-37 pass for 301 and two scores. The 301 passing yards was a season-high for Turner.
The Salem, Ark., native leads the conference in total offense per game with 1,726 yards. Turner ranks third in the NAIA in total offense, while ranking seventh in total passing yards with 1,258.
This is Turner's second Player of the Week honor this season, and fourth in his career.
The Tigers (3-2) have a bye week, before visiting Dordt College at 1 p.m. Oct. 8 in Sioux Center, Iowa.
