Adams and Bormann Named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team
MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University football team received two more postseason accolades Monday morning. Senior Adam Bormann (Stickney, S.D.) and junior Hayden Adams (Villa Park, Ill.) were named to the 2016 CoSIDA Academic All-America Team.
MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University football team received two more postseason accolades Monday morning. Senior Adam Bormann (Stickney, S.D.) and junior Hayden Adams (Villa Park, Ill.) were named to the 2016 CoSIDA Academic All-America Team.
Bormann, a linebacker for the Tigers, received the honor for achieving a 3.95 GPA with an accounting major. This was not the only recognition he received this season as he finished his career with Great Plains Athletic Conference First Team honors. Bormann finished the season with 73 total tackles, 1.5 sacks, five tackles for a loss and two forced fumbles. He had a season-high 13 tackles against Morningside College on Oct. 29. Bormann ends his career with 280 total tackles.
Adams was named to the Academic All-America Team with a 3.61 GPA in nursing. Adams was also named to the GPAC Second Team for his offensive efforts. He finished his junior season with 63 receptions, 716 yards and nine touchdowns. Adams biggest game was against Northwestern College as he caught nine passes for 110 yards and two touchdowns. In his career, he has 132 receptions, 1,771 receiving yards and 25 touchdowns. Adams is a key target in the Tigers offense, who finished with 39.4 points per game and 517.6 total yards per game.
The duo helped the Tigers finish with an 8-3 record and a top-20 finish in the NAIA Top-25 Coaches' Poll.
