Tigers ink four players for fall
MITCHELL, S.D. – Dakota Wesleyan University men’s head soccer coach Jose Lopez announced the signing of four players for the 2020 season.
MITCHELL, S.D. – Dakota Wesleyan University men's head soccer coach Jose Lopez announced the signing of four players for the 2020 season.
The four latest signees for the Tiger men's soccer squad include Carson Fox, Rashad Bell, Kevin Garcia and Barrack Minor.
Fox joins DWU from Watertown High School after his career with the Arrows. In his final season, Fox recorded eight goals and five assists. For his efforts on the pitch, he was named All-ESD First Team. He was also named a team captain his senior year and was a four-year letterwinner.
Bell comes to DWU from North Clayton High School. The goalkeeper averaged 10+ saves per game and was named a team captain for his performance. He was awarded the Eagles Heart Award for showing the most heart. Bell plans to pursue his degree in athletic training at Dakota Wesleyan.
Garcia transfers to the Tigers from Howard Community College. In high school, he helped guide his team to an undefeated season and the best defensive record in the spring of 2018. Garcia was named the Best Defensive Player on his team in 2016. He also was awarded the Most Improved Player in 2017 and the Most Valuable Player in 2018.
The fourth signee, Minor, joins the Tigers from Belle Fourche, S.D. Minor tallied 13 goals and four assists in his career. He played club soccer for Queen City FC and notched five goals. He was his varsity team's top scorer for two years and was named the Offensive Player of the Year. Minor also won the Indoor Sportsmanship Award.
