FIVE TIGER WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYERS EARN GPAC ALL-CONFERENCE HONORS
Dakota Wesleyan women’s basketball has five representatives for the GPAC All-Conference team for the 2022-23 season. One, First Team in Senior forward Matti Reiner (3rd All-Conference selection). Two, Second Teams in Senior center Jada Campbell (3rd All-Conference selection) and junior guard Isabel Ihnen. Then two Honorable Mention’s in freshman guard Rylee Rosenquist and sophomore guard Morgan Edelman.
Mitchell, S.D. – Dakota Wesleyan women's basketball has five representatives for the GPAC All-Conference team for the 2022-23 season. One, First Team in Senior forward Matti Reiner (3rd All-Conference selection). Two, Second Teams in Senior center Jada Campbell (3rd All-Conference selection) and junior guard Isabel Ihnen. Then two Honorable Mention's in freshman guard Rylee Rosenquist and sophomore guard Morgan Edelman.
Matti Reiner (First Team All-Conference)- Matti Reiner has started in all 30 games for the Tigers at forward averaging a tied team high 31.8 minutes per game. Reiner recorded her 1,000-career point at DWU this season in a 100-40 blowout win against CSM (11/19/22). Matti currently sits at 1,345 career points which ranks her tied for 14th all-time. Season stats currently sit at 13.8 points per game, while shooting 45.5% from the floor, grabbing 5.3 rebounds, collecting 3.9 assists, and swiping 1.5 steals. Reiner has scored double-digits in 14 straight games and 24 out of 30 on the year. She dominated in the 75-71 win over No. 3 Morningside (11/12/22) collecting a season-high 26 points and 13 rebounds for the double-double. Matti has been credited with three double-doubles on the year while collecting 17 games of 15+ points. Reiner also currently sits at 83.7% at the free throw line which is the top mark of her career and fourth in the GPAC. Reiner also tied a school single game field goal percentage record going 10-11 against College of Saint Mary (2/4/23).
Jada Campbell (Second Team All-Conference)- Jada Campbell has started in all 30 games for the Tigers at center, averaging 25.6 minutes per game. Campbell recorded her 1,000-career point at DWU this season in a 73-41 win over Mount Marty (1/15/23). Jada currently sits at 1,171 career points at DWU which ranks her 22nd all-time, but has 1,856 career collegiate points with her time at Presentation College. Season stats for Campbell currently sit at a team-high 14.4 points, 6.0 rebounds, GPAC leading 1.6 blocks and 1.0 assists. Jada has recorded double-digit points in 24 of 30 games this season, highlighted by a season-high 30 points on 14-18 shooting against Mount Marty (11/22/22). On the defensive end of the floor Jada tied a school record with six blocks at home against (RV) Jamestown (2/1/23). Campbell has recorded 2+ blocks in 14 games this season.
Isabel Ihnen (Second Team All-Conference)- Isabel Ihnen has started in all 30 games at the guard position for the Tigers while averaging a tied team-high 31.8 minutes per game. Ihnen currently sits at 9.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.3 steals and a team-high 53/153 from 3pt range. Recorded a career-high 21 points in the 75-69 win over Doane, going 5-12 from deep (12/2/22). Had a career-high six three pointers against CSM (11/19/22). Stuffed the stat sheet against CSM in the second meeting with nine points, six rebounds, six assists and five steals (2/4/23).
Rylee Rosenquist (All-Conference Honorable Mention- Rylee Rosenquist as a true freshman has started in 13 of the 29 games she has played in, averaging 20.4 minutes per game. Rosenquist season stats currently sit at 8.5 points on a team-high/GPAC top-10 53.7% shooting from the floor, 4.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.0 steals. First half of the season Rosenquist was in more of a role player role where as now down the stretch has been one of the go to players for the Tigers. In the last 15 games Rosenquist is averaging 12.3 points per game while scoring a season-high 24 points twice during that stretch. First time against No. 4 Dordt University (1/25/23) and secondly vs. (RV) Northwestern (2/21/23). In those 15 games Rylee has scored in double digits 10 times. Also very active on the boards Rosenquist collected a season-high 10 rebounds at Mount Marty (11/22/22).
Morgan Edelman (All-Conference Honorable Mention)- Morgan Edelman has started in 27 of 30 games at guard for the Tigers while averaging 27.7 minutes per game. Morgan's season stats currently sit at 8.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists and team-high 1.7 steals per game. Scored a career-high 17 points at No. 5 Dordt (12/10/22). Recorded a double-double against (RV) Jamestown with 10 points and career-high 11 rebounds (2/1/23). Was credited with a career-high nine assists vs. CSM (11/19/22). During the season has recorded 2+ steals in 13 games while earning a career-high five steals twice. The first time coming against CSM (11/9/22) and second vs. Morningside (2/15/23).
