A TRIO OF PERSONAL BESTS HIGHLIGHT THE TIGERS IN MIDST OF A TOUGH FIELD
Seward, Neb. – Dakota Wesleyan track and field squad faced stiff competition at the Concordia Twilight meet Friday evening. Tigers posted several top-10 finishes with three new personal records on the day.
How It Happened
Lia Guigui got the Tigers started off in the 100m dash preliminaries, running a 12.86; her time in the preliminaries also marked a new personal record. In the finals later in the evening, she placed fourth with a time of 13.00.. Adaya Plastow qualified for the 100m hurdles in her first race of the day, posting a time of 16.64. Plastow then ran a 17.20 in the 100m hurdle finals placing sixth. Plastow also competed in the 400m hurdles shortly after, running a 1:07.60 to ring up a ninth-place finish and a new personal record. Abby Magnuson placed ninth in the discus throw after tossing a final mark of 37.88m. Lila Gronseth posted a seventh-place finish in the shot put with her best mark of 12.46m. Caden Milmine recorded a top-5 finish in the men's shot put with an NAIA "A" mark of 16.52m placing fifth. Darby Deffenbaugh led the Tigers in the discus throw with a fifth-place finish after her best mark of 37.97m. Gronseth followed with a sixth-place finish tossing a mark of 37.75m. Katlyn Briggs rallied in a seventh-place finish with her best mark of the day of 37.71m. Christopher Zanotto came in 11th place in the men's hammer throw with a mark of 47.12m. Briggs came in just shy of a top-3 finish in the women's hammer throw, tossing a mark of 50.25m for fourth-place. Deffenbaugh recorded a tenth-place finish after throwing a mark of 45.04m marking a new personal record. Magnuson captured an eighth-place finish in the women's shot put with a 12.34m mark.

The Tigers will compete tomorrow at the Nebraska Kearney meet as they look to grab a few more national qualifying marks ahead of the national tournament in two weeks.
