CAMARILLO LEADS WOMENS WRESLTING AT WARRIOR OPEN
Freemont, Neb –
Three members of Dakota Wesleyan women's wrestling team competed in the Warrior Open in Freemont Nebraska. Isabelle Camarillo picked up two more wins before she was bounced out in the third round of the consolation bracket. The Tigers got a preview of what the post season could look like as they will be back in Freemont, Neb. in fourteen days as Midland University will host the KCAC Conference Tournament.
Results –
130 - Mady Sargent went 0-2 on the day after being defeated via tech fall by a Doane and Morningside wrestler. In Sargent's first face off of the day, she was defeated via tech fall late in the match. After receiving a bye in the consolation bracket, Mady was defeated by the Mustang by tech fall.
136 – Isabelle Camarillo went 2-2 on the day at the Warrior Open. She won her first face off of the day by technical fall (14-4) over a Morningside Mustang. Camarillo moved to round two of the champion bracket and was defeated by a Missouri Valley College wrestler. In her third match, Camarillo held off her opponent to win by decision (12-5). The final round for Isabelle came in the third round of the consolation bracket where she was defeated 12-3 in a decision match.
155 – Olivia Smith finished her day on the mats 0-2. Smith was defeated by a Waldorf wrestler in round two of the championship bracket after receiving a bye in the first round. Smith was put out of competition by a Missouri Valley College wrestler as she was pinned to the mat.

The women's wrestling team will be back in Freemont, Neb. for the KCAC Conference Tournament National Qualifier meet on February 24th.
