DWU cross country competes at Gage McSpadden Invitational

SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Gage McSpadden Invitational hosted by Black Hills State University Friday in Spearfish, S.D.
The Tiger men and women each took third place as a team in the competition, with the women scoring a 71 and the men and 81.
The DWU women were led by freshman McKenna Rogers (Saint Michael, Minn.), who finished eighth overall with a time of 17 minutes, 11.7 seconds. Sophomore Kelsie King (Mission Viejo, Calif) took 15th for DWU with a time of 18:29.2, while junior Shailhyn Schweigert (Burke, S.D.) added a 19th-place showing with a time of 19:02.0.
The Tiger men were paced by junior Jeremiah Panec (Kenesaw, Neb.) with a time of 21:15.4 and a 15th-place finish, while junior Lane Tibbs (Kenesaw, Neb.) took 21st with a time of 21:49.0.

DWU competes next at the Buena Vista Invite Saturday, Sept. 24 in Storm Lake, Iowa.
