Vaughan brings a plethora of experience to the men's basketball coaching staff. He coached three years in the NCAA Division II and the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and has several years of knowledge as an instructor at the Noah Dahlman Basketball Camps.
He most recently spent a season with NCAA DII program, St. Cloud State University where he was the head recruiter and in charge of player development for guards. Under his direction, Vaughan coached an All-Conference First Team guard.
Before joining the coaching ranks for the Huskies, Vaughan was with fellow NSIC program, University of Sioux Falls. He helped guide the Cougars to their first 20-win season since joining NCAA DII and helped coach them to their two best seasons since moving to the NCAA.
"We are very excited to be able to add Tyler," head men's basketball coach Matt Wilber stated. "He brings a great pedigree and experience in the game. He excelled on the court and we feel he is one of the great young coaches out there."
Vaughan played collegiate basketball at Minnesota State University Moorhead from 2012-16. He finished his career as a 1,000-point scorer and the career leader in 3-pointers made. He was also named to the 2016 NSIC All-Conference Second Team.
