Schuyler shines as DWU competes at Jim Dutcher Memorial

Leading the way for the Tigers was freshman Samantha Schuyler (Winner, S.D.) who took first in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:56.80. Coming in third was fellow Tiger Mckenna Rogers (Saint Michael, Minn.) who took third in 5:05.77. Kelsie King (Mission Viejo, Calif.) came in eighth place in the 1,500-meter run in 5:19.01.
Schuyler came in second in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:24.22, while Rogers came in 10th-place in 2:34.24. Callie Heath (Colome, S.D.) brought home a second-place finish in the 400-meter dash in 1:01.14, while placing seventh in the 200-meter dash in 27.07.
In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, Shailhyn Schweigert (Burke, S.D.) came in second with a time of 13:03.45. In the long jump, Lindsey Hale (Yankton, S.D.) took third after a mark of 17-9.75 feet, while Kristen Longville (Lake Preston, S.D.) tied for seventh at 16-9.75.
Hale came in fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 34-10.25, as Lydia Gerber (Canton, S.D.) came in sixth with a mark of 34-8.5.
On the men's side, Lane Tibbs (Kenesaw, Neb.) led the way after taking second in the 5,000-meter run in 16:12.46. Jared Rabenberg (Britton, S.D.) brought home second place in the high jump with a leap of 6-5.5 and came in fourth in the triple jump with a jump of 45-10.75.
In the discus throw, Matthew Campbell (Gregory, S.D.) came in third after a toss of 153-05 feet, as Rex Schlicht (Woonsocket, S.D.) took 11th in the 800-meter run in 2:00.12.
The DWU track and field teams will compete at the USD Last Chance Meet tomorrow in Vermillion, S.D.
