Field events lead Tigers at Red Raider Open
ORANGE CITY, Iowa – The Dakota Wesleyan University men’s and women’s track & field teams competed at the Red Raider Open as the field events took 12 top-10 finishes on Friday and Saturday in Orange City, Iowa.

Leading the way was Kamberlyn Lamer (Hartford, S.D.) as she won the Heptathlon with a point total of 5,001 points. The first-place finish put Lamer as the national leader in the event, as she provisionally qualified for the national meet.
The point total was a personal best for Lamer as she took second in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.88 seconds, while winning the high jump with a leap of 5-3.75 feet. The Hartford, S.D., native won the shot put following a toss of 36-0.75, took second in the 200-meter dash in 25.98, won the long jump with a mark of 18-3.75 and won the javelin throw with an 'A' Standard throw of 138-9.
Kristen Longville (Lake Preston, S.D.) tallied a pair of top-10 finishes as she took third in the triple jump with a mark of 35-7.25 and took ninth in the long jump following a leap of 16-2.25. Mikaela Stofferahn (Dell Rapids, S.D.) notched a second-place finish in the shot put after a throw of 44-11.75 and tallied a fourth-place finish in the discus with a mark of 148-04.
In the men's shot put, Tyson Jenkins (Clark, S.D.) took first, while Matthew Campbell (Gregory, S.D.) finished in second as they tallied marks of 56-10.75 and 52-0, respectively. Caden Milmine (Buffalo, Wyo.) took sixth in the same event with a throw of 50-8, good for a personal best and his first national mark of his career.
Jenkins followed up his performance in the shot put with an eighth-place finish in the discus as he finished with a toss of 148-01. Freshman Nate Rupprecht (Bennington, Neb.) competed in the Decathlon as he finished in eighth place out of 14 athletes with a total of 5,051 points and a personal best in the event.
Mckenna Rogers (Saint Michael, Minn.) took fifth in the 5,000-meter run following a time of 19:57.46 minutes, as senior Kelsie King (Mission Viejo, Calif.) hit a personal best in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 42:47.29 and a sixth-place finish.
Alyssa Weidler (Sioux Falls, S.D.) tallied eighth place in the long jump with a leap of 16-7.75, while Devin Rihanek (Plankinton, S.D.) took ninth in the 800-meter run in 2:02.18.
The men's and women's teams compete next at the USD Twilight tomorrow in Vermillion, S.D.
