MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University Sports Information Department finished the 2018-19 year on a strong note as they were awarded 10 top-10 placements in the 2019 NAIA-SIDA Publications & Media Contest.
The 10 awards tied for the most awards inside the top-10 across the entire NAIA with Grace University (Ind.). This more than tripled the number of awards from the 2017-18 year when DWU was handed three awards.
"This recognition is a major testament to the quality of work our entire marketing team puts forth for each of our programs, in particular our outstanding SID, Ian McClanahan," DWU Director of Athletics Jon Hart said. "Under his creative vision, our brand, marketing efforts, publications, media presence and overall appearance continues to reach new heights and this honor is a great reflection of that."
Of the awards, DWU took third and fourth place in the "Sport Posters" category; fourth, sixth and eighth place in the "Schedule Cards" category; fourth and sixth place in the "Infographics – Game Day" category and seventh, eighth and ninth place in the "Best Splash Page/Wallpaper" category.
"These awards are a testimony of the dedication and help from our marketing department, Jon Hart and the athletic administration team for providing me with supportive feedback and allowing for the implementation of my vision into Dakota Wesleyan Athletics," McClanahan stated. "It is unbelievably humbling to see all of the hard work throughout the year recognized in this contest."
