MITCHELL, S.D. – Leading up to the in-state rivalry between Dakota Wesleyan University and Dakota State University on Thursday, the Sports Information Department will highlight key players that will have an impact on the upcoming season.
The four-year veteran will be counted on to lead a talented line-backing corp. Van Poole has season action in every season as a Tiger, playing in seven games as a freshman, eight as a sophomore and nine as a junior. Last season he recorded 28 tackles and 1.5 TFL.
A native of Yuba City, Calif., Van Poole tallied a season-high nine tackles on Nov. 5 against Briar Cliff University and six tackles on Nov. 12 in a 42-31 victory over Midland University.
Throughout his career at DWU, Van Poole has recorded 40 tackles and two TFL.
