Endsley tabbed as next offensive coordinator for DWU football
MITCHELL, S.D. – Dakota Wesleyan University head football coach Ross Cimpl is pleased to announce the addition of Loren Endsley as the next offensive coordinator for the DWU football team, it was announced Friday.
MITCHELL, S.D. – Dakota Wesleyan University head football coach Ross Cimpl is pleased to announce the addition of Loren Endsley as the next offensive coordinator for the DWU football team, it was announced Friday.
Endsley comes to DWU after a successful coaching career at Eastern Oregon University in La Grande, Oregon. For the Mountaineers, Endsley was the offensive line coach and the run game coordinator. The Spokane, Wash., native led EOU to a top-30 ranking in the NAIA in total offensive yards per game with 423 yards, while ranking No. 26 in passing yards per game with 242 yards.
"We are extremely fortunate to be able to add coach Endsley to our coaching staff," Cimpl said. "He is a young energetic coach that has a great football mind. He was very impressive when he was on campus and made an immediate impression on our coaching staff and players."
Prior to EOU, he was the head football coach at Lake Roosevelt High School in Grand Coulee, Wash., and served as an offensive line coach at Complete Athlete in Spokane. Endsley also worked for Iron Strength as an NFL combine preparation coach, while working many high school camps in Oregon and Idaho.
No stranger to the offensive line, Endsley played collegiately for one season at Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho before transferring to EOU where he was named a USA Football All-American in 2015 and received the USA Football Bieslot Award for academic and community service.
Aside from the playing field, Endsley has served at as a clinician and presenter at many football clinics on the west coast. He was a presenter at the Nike Coach of the Year Clinic, All Sports Clinic, Eastern Washington University Coaching Clinic and various high school football clinics.
He received a bachelor's of science degree in history from EOU in June 2014 and a master's degree in teaching from EOU in June 2015. Endsley is also a level two certified physical preparation specialist.
Endsley will be tasked to take over a highly-potent Tiger offense that tallied more than 550 yards per game last season and ranked in the top-10 in total passing yards and scoring per game in the NAIA.
"Coach Endsley is bringing with him a very dynamic and exciting offensive system that will fit our personnel very well," Cimpl said. "We are really looking forward to him leading our offense and building on the success and expectations we have for our offensive unit."
