Burrell named quarterbacks and receivers coach
MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University football team has added its’ newest coach in Lance Burrell as the quarterbacks and wide receivers coach, head football coach Ross Cimpl announced Tuesday.
MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University football team has added its' newest coach in Lance Burrell as the quarterbacks and wide receivers coach, head football coach Ross Cimpl announced Tuesday.
Burrell most recently served as the offensive graduate assistant for the quarterbacks and wide receivers at NCAA Division I institution, Southern Utah University. While serving with the Thunderbirds, he helped them to two Big Sky Conference Championships and a pair of FCS playoff appearances.
He assisted in coaching All-Conference quarterbacks, while helping scout opponents, manage recruit visits and sideline management.
"We are very fortunate to be able to add Coach Burrell to our staff," Cimpl commented. "He has been a part of championship teams, and we look forward to his insight. He is a young coach that is very eager to get started. We are looking forward for him and his family to be in Mitchell."
Prior to SUU, Burrell worked as the varsity quarterback coach and junior varsity offensive coordinator for Cedar High School. He guided them to a 2016 Utah State Playoff appearance, while he coached and mentored two All-State performers.
