Tigers compete at Red Raider Cup
ORANGE CITY, Iowa – The Dakota Wesleyan University golf team took home fourth place as they competed in the Red Raider Cup at the Landsmeer Golf Course Tuesday in Orange City, Iowa.
ORANGE CITY, Iowa – The Dakota Wesleyan University golf team took home fourth place as they competed in the Red Raider Cup at the Landsmeer Golf Course Tuesday in Orange City, Iowa.
In the first 18 holes of the competition, Bennett Lundy (Aberdeen, S.D.) and Cade Carpenter (Mitchell, S.D.) led the way for the Tigers as both players shot an even par 71 in the stroke play portion of the tournament. Justice Morrison (Norris, S.D.) and Ramsey Johnson (Aberdeen, S.D.) were right behind Lundy and Carpenter as they each carded a 73, while Nolan Wiegel (Huron, S.D.) tallied a 74 for DWU.
In the match play portion, The Tigers matched up with the University of Jamestown. After 18 holes of play, the Jimmies won the match 4-1. Wiegel picked up the only head-to-head victory after winning the match being up six holes with four to play.
DWU will be back in action at the GPAC Preview on Monday at the Dakota Dunes Country Club in Sioux City, S.D.
