Mitchell, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan baseball team dropped a windy doubleheader with (RV) Concordia for their home opener of the season. The opener was delayed about a month from the original schedule but saw the Tigers and Bulldogs playing in nearly 90-degree weather but 25 MPH winds. DWU lost game one by a score of 11-7. The Tigers had one bad inning in the fourth, surrendering six runs on multiple errors and miscues in the field. Dakota Wesleyan was holding a 3-0 lead before the inning with starter Jacob Glovich cruising through the lineup the first three innings. Seth Christiansen made things interesting in the final frame, lacing a three-run shot to right that got in the jet stream to make it 11-7. This was Christiansen's team high third home run on the season. In game two the Tigers were shutout 4-0, having a hard time getting anything going offensively. DWU only had one runner reach third base in the game which came in the first inning. Jereko Martinez however turned in one of his best performances on the mound earning the quality start going six innings allowing three runs against one of the top offensive teams in the nation. The Tigers dropped to 4-23 (1-15 GPAC) while the Bulldogs improved to 27-11 (13-3 GPAC).
