Rabenberg shines for Tigers at SDSU Early Bird
BROOKINGS, S.D. – With the 2019-20 indoor track and field season kicking off, it was senior Jared Rabenberg (Britton, S.D.) who shined as he automatically qualified for the NAIA National Championships in the high jump with a leap of 6-10.75 feet Friday at the SDSU Early Bird Friday in Brookings, S.D.
BROOKINGS, S.D. – With the 2019-20 indoor track and field season kicking off, it was senior Jared Rabenberg (Britton, S.D.) who shined as he automatically qualified for the NAIA National Championships in the high jump with a leap of 6-10.75 feet Friday at the SDSU Early Bird Friday in Brookings, S.D.
Rabenberg recorded a fourth-place finish, as the athletes who finished in front of him were from the University of South Dakota and the University of Minnesota.
Lydia Gerber (Canton, S.D.) led the Tigers in the 60-meter dash as she finished in 8.17 seconds, good for eighth place. The time was also good for the sixth best time in program history.
Three Tigers recorded top-10 marks in program history in the 60-meter hurdles in Emily McDonald (Crooks, S.D.), Avany Long (Oacoma, S.D.) and Jocelyn Krouse (Montrose, S.D.). McDonald finished in 9.85, good for fourth all time, while Long was not far behind with a time of 9.86, good for fifth all time. Krouse rounded out the group as she finished in 10.52, good for 10th all time.
Krouse also competed in the triple jump as she took 16th with a mark of 33-6. The mark was also good for 10th all time in program history.
Claire Stoller (Madison, S.D.) took 10th in the triple jump with a leap of 35-2, while Gerber took 11th with a mark of 34-5.5. Stoller and Gerber now hold two top-10 marks in the triple jump in program history with their marks.
Gerber tallied a 12th-place finish in the long jump following a jump of 16-03.75. Caden Milmine (Buffalo, Wyo.) took 17th in the shot put as he recorded a throw of 47-03.
DWU will compete next at the Concordia Early Bird Multi on Friday and Saturday in Seward, Neb.
