Yankton, S.D. – Dakota Wesleyan dropped a pair of mid-week seven inning games in windy conditions to Mount Marty by scores of 7-2 in game one and 8-1 in game two. In game one Seth Christiansen provided all the offense with a RBI double in the first and solo home run in the third. This was Christiansen's sixth home run of the season which leads the team (one more than Caleb Meyers) and is a career high for the senior two-way player. With Christiansen offense and Mitchell Sand on the mound who cruised through the first three innings the Tigers held a 2-0 lead. The Lancers opened the game wide open when they plated three in the fourth and four in the fifth. Despite having runners on almost every inning the Dakota Wesleyan offense was held at bay for the remainder of the contest resulting in the 7-2 final.
Game two it was Mount Marty who jumped to an early 4-0 lead in the first two innings. DWU answered with one in the third on a Ryan McGinnis solo shot, his second of the season. This would be the only offense the Tigers would muster up against the tough Lancer starter though and MMU added three in the fourth and one in the sixth for a 8-1 final.
