TIGERS READY FOR FIRST ROAD TEST VERSUS MUSTANGS ON SATURDAY
MITCHELL, S.D. – Fresh off a 2-0 victory over Bellevue University in its home opener on Wednesday to begin the 2021 campaign, the Dakota Wesleyan University women’s soccer team hits the road versus Southwest Minnesota State University in non-conference action on Saturday at 5 p.m. from Marshall, Minn. Saturday’s match versus SMSU is a regular-season contest for Dakota Wesleyan, however, for Southwest Minnesota State the game is an exhibition.

About the Tigers
- Dakota Wesleyan commenced the 2021 season with a 2-0 victory over the Bruins in spite of being outshot 22-13 in Wednesday's match.
- In her first collegiate start, Isabella Gregg (Moreno Valley, Calif.) registered the 2-0 shutout victory at goalkeeper. The DWU freshman finished the contest with 15 saves at net including 10 in the first period.
- Alondra Partida (Salinas, Calif.) found the back of the net in the 32nd minute off an assist from Alyssa Crnic (Omaha, Neb.) granting the Tigers the initial 1-0 lead. Josephine Bardsley (Tea, S.D.) followed with a goal in the 52nd minute preserving the 2-0 win.
About the Mustangs
- In a shortened spring season, the Mustangs finished with an overall record of 2-2-1 during the 2020-21 season.
- Junior forward Abbey Hoisington returns to the pitch for SMSU following four goals and eight assists in 2019 when she earned All-NSIC Second Team Honors.
- Mustang defender Katie Oatman is expected to anchor the Southwest Minnesota State defense after making 18 starts in 2019.
