Tigers, (RV) Chargers set to Square Off in GPAC Quarterfinals
After amassing nine victories in consecutive seasons, the Dakota Wesleyan University women’s soccer program makes its second-straight trip to the Great Plains Athletic Conference postseason playoffs. The third postseason appearance under head coach Clayson Glasgow since 2014, Dakota Wesleyan faces (RV) Briar Cliff University at 2 p.m. on Saturday from Faber Field in Sioux City, Iowa.

About the Tigers
- Entering Thursday's opening round, the Tigers maintain a 9-7-1 overall record including a 6-5-1 mark in conference action as the No. 7 seed in the GPAC postseason.
- DWU goalkeepers Isabella Gregg and Hannah Trumbull finished the regular season with a combined .801 save percentage and 102 combined saves. Gregg has secured a trio of shutouts in 12 matches played while Trumbull surrendered a team-low seven goals in eight outings.
- Dakota Wesleyan sits with 32 goals scored and 115 shots on goal this season as Jozy Bardsley and Alondra Partida have fueled the Blue and Gray offensive attack. Bardsley leads the Tigers with 13 goals scored while Partida has notched a team-best 10 assists.
- Meanwhile, the DWU defensive back line has limited opponents to 27 goals in 17 matches played thus far, while surrendering nine goals in the final nine games.
About the Chargers
- Holding a 12-2-1 overall mark and a 10-1-1 record in conference play, the Chargers enter the 2021 GPAC quarterfinals as the No. 2 seed.
- BCU is averaging 2.86 goals per match including 40 goals scored on the year. Taylor Alkire leads the Briar Cliff offense with 13 goals and four assists in 14 starts. The senior forward opened the year with multi-goal performances in three of her first four outings.
- Darrien Sclafani has conducted the Charger defensive back line from the goalkeeper position with five shutout performances and 35 saves.
Postseason History (Dakota Wesleyan)
- Dakota Wesleyan prepares for its eighth postseason appearance since the 2005 season as the program made five-straight trips from 2008-12.
- The 2014 campaign saw the Tigers advance to the GPAC playoff semifinals after a 2-1 road victory over Midland University in the GPAC Quarterfinal round.
