15 TIGER FOOTBALL STUDENT-ATHLETES SELECTED TO THE NAIA DAKTRONICS SCHOLAR-ATHLETE LIST
Mitchell, S.D. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has published the 2022 Daktronics NAIA Football Scholar-Athletes with over 900 student-athletes honored. Among the 900 total honorees for academic excellence in the classroom, 15 Tiger football athletes received the honor.
Sophomores- Quarterback Austin Lee, Linebacker Avery Nordbye, Defensive Lineman Ben Harms, Offensive Lineman Connor Kerkhove, Defensive Back Jacob Williams, Linebacker Layton Eide and Linebacker Rave Uhlich.
Juniors- Defensive Lineman Caleb Maciejewski, Defensive Back Gavin Spurrell, Linebacker Max Schoenfelder and Offensive Lineman Trent Suckut.
Seniors- Defensive Back Adam DeJong, Defensive Lineman Connor Tapia, Running Back Jamin Arend and Tight End Matt Schwaerzler.
This Fall, the Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete programs recognizes football players from 89 institutions. In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended one full year at said institution.
