DWU men in third after GPAC No. 1
SIOUX CENTER, Iowa – The Dakota Wesleyan University men's golf team competed in Great Plains Athletic Conference Qualifier No. 1 Friday at The Ridge Golf Course in Sioux Center, Iowa.
SIOUX CENTER, Iowa – The Dakota Wesleyan University men's golf team competed in Great Plains Athletic Conference Qualifier No. 1 Friday at The Ridge Golf Course in Sioux Center, Iowa.
DWU shot a 295 to finish third in the team standings, led by a pair of Tigers in the top five. Defending GPAC champion Northwestern College led the way with a 289, while Doane College finished second with a 290.
Juniors Thomas Hogg (Aberdeen, S.D.) and Elliot Banks (East Sussex, England) led the way for DWU finishing in a tie for fifth, each carding a 72.
Sophomore Ben McNiven (Merritt, B.C., Canada) shot a 78 finishing in 18th place. Rounding out the Tigers roster was sophomore Russell Pick (Kimball, S.D.) who completed the course with a 76 giving him a 22nd-place finish , while senior Anthony Husher (Winner, S.D) who finished in 37th place carding a 79.
The top finishers individually were Doane's Cale Benson and Northwestern's Zach Riddle each shooting a 69.
DWU men's golf team will return to action at Doane on September 28.
