Hinker, Weelborg selected to the All-GPAC Team
MITCHELL, S.D. – A pair of Dakota Wesleyan University golfers were assigned to the All-GPAC Team as Megan Hinker (Lennox, S.D.) was tabbed to the All-GPAC First Team while Devan Weelborg (Bryant, S.D.) received All-GPAC Honorable Mention accolades.

Hinker, who also collected all-conference honors as a sophomore, helped pace the Dakota Wesleyan University women's golf team to a fourth-place finish in the spring portion of the Great Plains Athletic Conference Championships as DWU ended the competition with a grand total of 1,400. Individually, the Tiger junior secured a fifth-place finish with a mark of 319 after totaling a 76 and 80 in the third and fourth rounds, respectively.
The Lennox, S.D., native cracked the top-10 in five of the six meets during both the fall and spring seasons. Hinker kicked off her junior campaign with a top-5 performance at the Lancer Invite as she carded a score of 158.
She proceeded with a mark of 159 through two days at the Southern Plains Collegiate Invite and notched a tie for 12th place at the Northwest Iowa National Invite. At the conclusion of the fall season, Hinker recorded an opening round score of 81 at the at the GPAC Fall Championships and sat fifth at the end of the championship event through 36 holes.
In the spring season, the Lennox High School product recorded a trio of top-10 finishes and commenced the season with a mark of 161 en route to a 10th-place finish at the Concordia Bulldog Invite. Hinker then carded a total score of 172 at the Hardrocker Spring Invite followed by a fifth-place finish at the Dordt Invite to conclude the regular season.
Meanwhile, Weelborg who competed in five tournaments last year as a freshman, paced the Tiger men to a seventh-place finish at the spring portion of the GPAC Golf Championships as he ended the competition with a total score of 308. The Bryant, S.D., native carded a 78 in the opening round followed by a 79 in the final 18 holes.
Weelborg initiated the 2020-21 campaign with a tie for fifth place at the Blue River Classic to open the fall season. The Dakota Wesleyan sophomore proceeded with marks of 226 and 151 at the Southern Plains Collegiate Invite and the fall portion of the conference championships, respectively. Weelborg completed the GPAC Fall Qualifier with a mark of 151 through 18 rounds which placed him in a tie for ninth place.
To open the spring season, the Bryant, S.D., native dialed a pair of top-10 placings highlighted by a third-place finish at the Prairie Dunes Collegiate Invite. Weelborg ended the two-day event with a total score of 153 thanks to an opening round mark of 73. The Tiger golfer then tallied a 148 at the Briar Cliff Men's Spring Invite and concluded the competition in a tie for ninth place.
Both the squads are set to return a bulk of their rosters as the Dakota Wesleyan women's roster is set to return a total of eight golfers while the DWU men's roster is set to retain seven golfers.
