DWU Women's cross country had two runners in this meet. Abby Hasart keeps on impressing with fast times. She crossed the finish line with a 19:35.10, the seventh fastest time in DWU history! Caley Murphy was the second Tiger finishing, she crossed with a time of 23:01.83. Head Coach Matt Rosado had this to say about the women's race; "Abby looked strong with another ten second drop to move her to #7 all time. Caley also had another consistent showing which is right where we want to be. We gear up to race our first 6k in two weeks."
On the men's side, Caleb Sayler finished 23rd out of 95 racers with a time of 26:50.01. Hunter Shanks ran across the finish line about a minute later with a time of 27:59.38. The last Tiger runner to finish was Gage Dietterle as he finished with a time of 31:41.82. Coach Rosado had this to say about the men's performance; "The guy's raced well considering the heavy week we've had. This is the fastest we have opened up with an 8k in their careers, so we are on target for our ultimate goal in November."
Coach Rosado's Thoughts:
"Super proud of the efforts and attitudes while racing, a big key to this season is staying course to the plan. We must have blinders on in this early portion of the schedule, so we don't get ahead of ourselves."
