Junior (2022-23): Started in all 32 games at the guard position...was named to the All-GPAC Second Team...finished the season with career-highs with 9.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.3 steals and a team-high 57/163 from 3pt range...recorded a career-high 21 points in the 75-69 win over Doane, going 5-12 from deep (12/2/22)...had a career-high six three pointers against CSM (11/19/22)...stuffed the stat sheet against CSM in the second meeting with nine points, six rebounds, six assists and five steals (2/4/23)...also turned in a player of the game effort in the NAIA First Round against Hope International with 18 points (4-7 from 3PT) and two rebounds (3/7/23)...concluded the season with a 86.5% free throw percentage which was best on the team.

The Dakota Wesleyan women’s basketball squad picks up the blowout 85-56 win in the first round of the NAIA National Championship Tournament against (RV) Hope International University. The Tigers did it with big efforts from Isabel Ihnen scoring 18, Matti Reiner with 17, Morgan Edelman with 17 as well and Jada Campbell recording a double-double with grabbing a season-high 15 rebounds. The Tigers dominated on both ends of the court and really turned the tables halfway through the second quarter going on a 39-6 run to the 2:17 mark in the third quarter. DWU won the second half by a 50-25 margin. DWU advances to the second round to either face host CMU or Haskell at 7:00 p.m.
Dakota Wesleyan women’s basketball has five representatives for the GPAC All-Conference team for the 2022-23 season. One, First Team in Senior forward Matti Reiner (3rd All-Conference selection). Two, Second Teams in Senior center Jada Campbell (3rd All-Conference selection) and junior guard Isabel Ihnen. Then two Honorable Mention’s in freshman guard Rylee Rosenquist and sophomore guard Morgan Edelman.
The Dakota Wesleyan women’s basketball team drops a heart-breaking overtime loss in a game they led for almost 26 minutes of against No. 4 Dordt Defenders in the GPAC Semifinal game. Jada Campbell and Morgan Edelman both fouled out in the fourth quarter resulting in the Tigers to battle it out in overtime with two of their main starters and leading scorer in Campbell. DWU had the ball last with 24 seconds, down by one but couldn’t get the last second shot to fall. Four Tigers were in double figures in the contest with Edelman leading with her 16 and nine alone in the fourth quarter.
The Dakota Wesleyan women’s basketball squad completed the season sweep over the Warriors with a convincing 86-52 victory. Jada Campbell led with her 20 points, five rebounds and three blocks. Matti Reiner turned in a quality game with 16 points, eight rebounds and two assists. The Tigers shot 50.0% from the floor and dominated the rebound battle 45-28. Dakota Wesleyan improves to 18-7 (12-7 GPAC) while Midland dropped to 4-20 (2-17 GPAC).
The Dakota Wesleyan women’s basketball team dominate on the defensive end of the floor in their 55-41 win over (RV) Northwestern. The Tigers only allowed four total points in the entire fourth quarter and held the Red Raiders scoreless in the closing seven minutes. DWU forced 22 NWC turnovers and came away with 11 steals. Jada Campbell and Matti Reiner both led with 11 points in the contest with Campbell grabbing a game-high eight rebounds. Dakota Wesleyan improves to 18-7 (12-7 GPAC) with (RV) Northwestern dropping to 17-8 (12-7 GPAC).
The Dakota Wesleyan women’s basketball team took care of business on the road against the Saint Mary Flames 86-59. Matti Reiner led with 23 points, six assists and four rebounds. Jada Campbell added 19 points and six boards followed by Edelman with 14 points. The Tigers racked up a staggering 25 assists in the game which is the most since recording 25 against Midland (1/11/23). DWU shot extremely efficient from the floor (54.0%) and from behind the arc going 10 for 20 (50.0%). The Tigers improve to 17-7 (11-7 GPAC) with the Flames dropping to 5-19 (2-16 GPAC).
Dakota Wesleyan women’s basketball team picks up the statement 89-71 victory over No. 18 Briar Cliff. Lacey Sprakel was dominant from beginning to end with her 18 points off the bench followed by the always consistent source of offense in Matti Reiner with 17 points. Isabel Ihnen had 16 points followed by Morgan Edelman with 13 and Rylee Rosenquist with 12. DWU improves 15-6 (9-6 GPAC) with the No. 18 Chargers dropping to 16-5 (12-3 GPAC).
The Dakota Wesleyan women’s basketball team grabbed the big 86-78 comeback victory of Doane University. The DWU Tigers were led by Rynn Osthus off the bench scoring a career-high 18 points in the contest. Jada Campbell and Rylee Rosenquist added 18 points as well. Campbell did it all in this one recording a career-high five assists, grabbing five boards and a season-high four blocks while also dominating the fourth quarter as usual with 10 points. Dakota Wesleyan yet again dialed up the defense by having another game of forcing 20+ turnovers. DWU also moved the ball well again racking up 20 assists in the game. Dakota Wesleyan improves to 14-5 (8-5 GPAC) while Doane drops to 11-9 (5-9 GPAC).
Dakota Wesleyan women’s basketball picked up the 77-58 win over Hastings. Matti Reiner did it all with her 22 points, five rebounds and four assists. Jada Campbell followed with 14 points, with eight being in the fourth quarter alone. Isabel Ihnen added 12 points and four assists. Dakota Wesleyan improved to 13-5 (7-5 GPAC) with the Broncos dropping to 8-11 (4-9 GPAC) on the season.

Jada Campbell recorded her 1,000 point at DWU in the second quarter of the game and finished with 11 points and 6 rebounds. Matti Reiner had a double-double and Isabel Ihnen led with her 17 points. DWU improves to 12-5 (6-5 GPAC) while the Lancers fall to 5-14 (2-11 GPAC).
The Dakota Wesleyan women’s basketball team fell 59-58 to the Concordia Bulldogs with Edelman being just late on her last second shot. CUNE started their possession with 33 seconds on the clock and picked up a shot clock violation and not hitting the rim. Officials allowed the 1.7 seconds shown to be the official time. Morgan Edelman drilled a shot just after the buzzer which would have given DWU the win but resulted in a 59-58 loss for the Tigers. Dakota Wesleyan falls to 10-5 (4-5 GPAC) on the season.
Dakota Wesleyan women’s basketball falls to #22 Briar Cliff 65-48 for the first game of the 2023 year. The Tigers couldn’t overcome their 22 turnovers in the game, resulting from physical play from the Chargers. BCU changed the pace of the game as soon as they went to their full court press that the Tigers didn’t have an answer for. DWU drops to 10-4 (4-4 GPAC) on the season with BCU improving to 11-4 (7-2 GPAC).
Dakota Wesleyan women’s basketball grabbed game one of two on their California trip by a score of 64-53. The Tigers dominated the boards 52-28 grabbing a staggering 21 offensive rebounds in the contest. Isabel Ihnen led with her 15 points with Reiner pouring in 11 with a season-high 13 rebounds to complete the double-double. DWU improves to 9-3 with the Pioneers dropping to 8-6.
The #21 Dakota Wesleyan Tigers defeated the Saints of Presentation College 72-35. The Tigers were led by Lacey Sprakel who scored a career-high 23 points in the contest to go with seven rebounds and two assists. Sprakel shot 9-10 from the floor and a perfect 5-5 at the free throw line. Jada Campbell added 17 points of her own in the game. DWU improves to 8-3 on the season while the Saints fall to 1-10.
The #11 Dakota Wesleyan women’s basketball team fell to the #5 Dordt Defenders 75-65 in a close back and forth game. The game got out of reach in the closing minutes but was a close back and forth battle for the majority of the game. Morgan Edelman led the Tigers with a career-high of 17 points. DWU had four players with 13+ points in the contest (Cambpell, Edelman, Reiner and Ihnen). Tigers drop to 7-3 (4-3 GPAC) while the Defenders stay perfect at 12-0 (7-0 GPAC).
Dakota Wesleyan Women’s Basketball defeated the Bellevue Bruins 77-57. This was a statement win for the Tigers coming off their loss to Hastings, who this Bruins team beat. Jada Campbell dominated in this game with 28 points on 12-19 shooting, 5 rebounds and three blocks. Campbell scored 12 points in the second quarter alone. Matti Reiner and Lacey Sprakel each scored double-digits with their 13 and 12. The Tigers improve to 7-2 (4-2 GPAC) on the season while the Bruins drop to 6-5.
Dakota Wesleyan women’s basketball drops home matchup to Hastings College 74-70. Hastings won the game with their efficient shooting from deep (13-25 52%) and getting a couple calls to go their way resulting in a lot of trips to the ‘charity’ stripe 17-20 compared to DWU only going 7-12. The Tigers were led by Matti Reiner’s 17 (2-4 from behind the arc) and Isabel Ihnen’s 16 (5-6 from deep). Jada Campbell added 13 points in the contest. Matti Reiner stuffed the stat sheet with her 19 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks. Dakota Wesleyan improves to 6-1 (4-1 GPAC) while Doane drops to 4-3 (2-3 in the GPAC).
Sioux Falls, S.D. – No. 7 Dakota Wesleyan women’s basketball was nearly even across the board with the Vikings of Augustana Saturday afternoon, until it came to turnovers. The Tigers were poised with 15 turnovers allowing Augie to score 15 points off those turnovers. While DWU forced eight turnovers from the Vikings, scoring 12 points off those turnovers.

Isabel Ihnen added 11 points in the contest. This is the second lowest total the Tigers have given up this year (31 vs. Presentation 11/6). The #7 Tigers extinguished the CSM Flames 100-40 in their home season opener at the Corn Palace. Matti Reiner recorded 19 points and scored her 1,000 point in the game. Isabel Ihnen was the game leader with her career-high 20 points going 6-for-9 from deep. Tigers improve to 4-1 on the season (2-1 in GPAC) with the Flames dropping to 2-5 (0-3 in GPAC).
The Dakota Wesleyan women’s basketball team traveled to Sioux City Saturday for their first GPAC matchup of the season with a tough matchup against No. 3 Morningside University. The Tigers completed a 15-point comeback to beat the Mustangs 75-71. Matti Reiner hit a go-ahead jumper with nine seconds left on the clock to put DWU up for good. Jada Campbell recorded her second double-double of the season. Tigers improve to a perfect 3-0 to start the season (1-0 in GPAC) with the Mustangs dropping to 1-2 (0-1 in the GPAC).
