DWU places fourth at GPAC Fall Qualifier
ELKHORN, Neb. – After sitting in sixth place in the first round, the Dakota Wesleyan University men’s golf team rallied to finish in fourth place at the Great Plains Athletic Conference Fall Qualifier on Friday and Saturday at the Indian Creek Golf Course in Elkhorn, Neb.

The Tigers shot a 319 on day one and a 317 on day two of the qualifier for a total of 636, finishing eight strokes behind University of Jamestown for third place.
Nolan Wiegel (Huron, S.D.) led the team as he tied for fourth place with an 80 and 77 on his scorecard through the event. Devan Weelborg (Bryant, S.D.) tied for 15th after carding a 95 and a 79.
Bennett Lundy (Aberdeen, S.D.) was not far behind as he tied for 18th after shooting 80 on the second day. Tony Hayes (Sioux Falls, S.D.) tied for 21st with a two-day total of 158, while Cade Carpenter (Mitchell, S.D.) tied for 39th in the meet.
DWU concludes the fall season on Oct. 14 and 15 at the Lindenwood Belleville Invitational at the Stonewolf Golf Club in Fairview Heights, Ill.
