Men’s soccer collects three individual All-GPAC awards

MITCHELL, S.D. – Under first-year head coach Luis Pulido, the Dakota Wesleyan University men's soccer team collected three individual All-GPAC honors, it was announced Friday by the conference.

 Freshman Ndrin Maloku (Prishtine, Albania) was selected to the All-GPAC First Team squad, while junior Tyler Anderson (Monticello, Minn.) and freshman Carson Fox (Watertown, S.D.) earned All-GPAC Honorable Mention honors.

 Maloku took the conference by surprise scoring 11 goals in 11 games over his freshman campaign. The Tiger forward ended the regular season third in the GPAC in both goals scored and goals per match while finishing 11^th nationally in total goals. A native of Prishtine, Albania, Maloku also tallied a pair of assists along with 43 shots, 20 shots on goal and three multi-goal contests.

 The DWU forward's best stretch of the season came late during the 2020 campaign, recording multiple goals in three of his final four starts. He tallied two goals on just two shot attempts in a 2-1 road victory over Presentation College. Maloku becomes the first DWU men's soccer player to earn All-Conference First Team status since the 2011 season.

 Meanwhile, Anderson led the Tiger defensive unit starting in 11 matches as well registering five shots and three shots on goal. The junior defender has appeared in 44 contests throughout his career at Dakota Wesleyan notching three assists.

 Fox was a key piece of the DWU offense as well making eight starts and 11 appearances at the forward position. Securing both one assist and one goal scored on 10 shot attempts during his freshman campaign, his goal versus Dordt University helped the Tigers defeat the Defenders 2-0 on the road.

 Dakota Wesleyan finished the season with an overall record of 5-7-1 qualifying for the GPAC playoffs scheduled to begin this spring.
