TIGERS DEFEAT NORTHWESTERN IN HUGE CONFERENCE DUAL, 26-21

The Dakota Wesleyan men's wrestling team defeated the Northwestern Red Raiders in a home dual this evening. The Tigers used big faceoff wins from freshman Kipp Cordes and Cole Hennings. Cordes's fall win in the 125-weight class gave the Tigers the early lead and Hennings held off the Raider come back with his win by decision in the heavy weight class to help the Tigers to a 26-21 victory.

Cordes won by fall in the first faceoff of the night after pinning his opponent in the second period! Zitek got a forfeit win to add to the Tigers lead, to make it 12-3. Johnson would grab a technical fall win after he thumped his opponent 16-0. Bigelow secured a big fall win within the first three minutes of his faceoff, to give the Tigers 23-12 lead. The Raiders would score nine points to bring the team score within two points. Hennings stepped up big on the mat, escaping his opponent twice then getting the Raider to the ground for another three points to win 5-1 and secure the victory for the Tigers.
