Men’s track and field hosts final home indoor meet of season
MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University men’s track and field team hosts its second and final home track meet of the indoor season with the DWU Invitational beginning at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the DWU/Avera Sports and Wellness Center.

Competing in the shot put will be Caden Milmine (Buffalo, Wyo.) who has a season best throw of 51-4.5 feet (15.66m) and sits fourth in the conference in the event. Ryan Kienzle (Gillette, Wyo.) is also in the top-10 in the shot-put event in the conference. His mark of 45-4.25 feet (13.82m) is good for 10th in the Great Plains Athletic Conference.
In the weight throw, Chris Zanotto (Blair, Neb.) will look to improve on his third-place finish from a week ago. He recorded a season-best 49-10 feet (15.19m) in the weight throw at the Dordt Open.
On the track, Hunter Shanks (Bennington, Neb.) and Justin Sorensen (Vermillion, S.D.) each had impressive outings at the Mount Marty Open. Shanks finished the 800-meter run in 2:02.23 minutes, moving him into 10th all-time in program history. Sorensen was not far behind as he crossed the finish line in 2:02.31 minutes.
Cale Strong (Norfolk, Neb.) and Cobey Carr (Pierre, S.D.) each competed in the triple jump a week ago. Strong finished in third place after a leap of 40-2.25 feet (12.25m), while Carr added a 37-10.5 foot (11.54m) finish, good for fifth place. Strong's best mark in the triple jump this season came at the Dordt Open after a mark of 40-7 feet (12.37m).
