Tigers face stiff competition at USD Tune-Up Meet, notch a pair of top-10 finishes
MITCHELL, S.D. – A handful of Dakota Wesleyan University men’s and women’s track and field athletes competed at the USD Tune-Up Meet hosted by the University of South Dakota as they encountered a strong field of competition on Friday at the Lillibridge Track Complex in Vermillion, S.D.

On the runway, Lia Guigui (Rapid City, S.D.) concluded the high-jump event in a tie for fifth place. Guigui finished the day with a height of 5-2.75 feet (1.59m).
Dakota Wesleyan throws specialists Morgan Taft (Norris, S.D.) and Lila Gronseth (Sargeant, Minn.) also highlighted competition for the lady Tigers as Taft registered a mark of 142.4 feet (43.39m) in the hammer throw. Meanwhile, Gronseth who competed in both the shot put and discus, cracked the all-time performance list in the shot-put event with a distance of 39-5.5 feet (12.02m). The DWU freshman thrower dialed a mark of 123 feet (37.49m) in the discus.
For the DWU men, Caden Milmine (Buffalo, Wyo.) continued his strong outdoor season with a top-10 performance in the shot put. Milmine secured a ninth-place finish thanks to a throw of 52-2.5 feet (15.91m). Fellow throws specialist Ryan Kienzle (Gillette, Wyo.) also competed for the Tigers and tallied a mark of 154.7 feet (47.12m) in the hemmer throw.
DWU is slated to take part in one more meet before the NAIA Outdoor National Championships as the Tigers will compete at the Concordia Last Chance Meet hosted by Concordia University on Saturday in Seward, Neb.
