Tigers in 3rd after Round One at Siouxland
ORANGE CITY, Iowa – The Dakota Wesleyan University men’s golf team continued its strong start to the 2016 fall season in the opening round of the Siouxland Invitational at Landsmeer Golf Course Thursday in Orange City, Iowa.

The Tigers sit in third place, one stroke off the lead behind Morningside College and Northwestern College. DWU shot a 291, its best round of the season.
Freshman Connor Preston (Aberdeen, S.D.) once again showed his potential to compete in the Great Plains Athletic Conference, firing a 71 to tie for second overall with teammate Gabe Dirksen (Lead, S.D.), who competed on the Tigers' second team.
Senior Coleman Caldwell (Chamberlain, S.D.) tied for eighth with a 72, while senior Thomas Hogg (Aberdeen, S.D.) was 17th after carding a 73. Senior Michael Whitney (Brandon, S.D.) also tied for eighth, while playing for the second team.
The Tigers continue with the second round of the Siouxland Invite at The Ridge Golf Course Friday in Sioux Center, Iowa.
