MITCHELL, S.D. – The 2017-18 Dakota Wesleyan University women's basketball roster just got a little deeper with the addition of Kadra Kayser from Emery, S.D., where she played guard for Bridgewater-Emery High School.
The 5-foot-5 guard is currently averaging 15.8 points per game in her final season. She was named First Team All-Conference her junior season while being named Third Team All-Conference her freshman and sophomore seasons.
"We are excited to be adding local talent to our roster for next year," Head Coach Jason Christensen said. "Kadra is a phenomenal athlete and gets after it on the court, but she also has an exceptional work ethic in the classroom. We can't wait to get her on campus next fall and be a part of our Tiger family."
Aside from basketball, Kayser is a member of her high school's volleyball and track teams. She was named Honorable Mention her junior season and earned Second Team honors her senior season in volleyball. Off the court, she placed eighth in the 300-meter hurdles at the 2016 state track meet.
The Emery, S.D., native is just as impressive in the classroom as she is on the hardwood. She was named Student of the Month and named to the 'A' Honor Roll each year of high school. Kayser is an avid member of academic activities as a member of NHS, FCCLA, HOSA, the yearbook, student council, band and chorus. Her junior year she was the secretary of the student council while she currently is the Vice President in her senior year.
